Gabonak

Eguberri egunean, eguna luzatzen hasten dela ospatzen dugu, hala nola, egunik laburrena eta gaurik luzeena. Kristautasunean eguberri eguna beti jesusen jaiotzarekin lotzen da, baina hori mito bat bakarrik ez da. Inork ez du frogatu jesuskristo abenduak 25ean jaio zela, askok diote uztailean jaio zela eta beste askok irailean. Kristauek Aste Santua edo elizarekin zerikusia duten jai bat gehiago bezala hartzen dute egun hau.


Galdetuko zarete zergaitik 25ean opariak banatzen diren edo eguberriko pinua zergaitik jartzen den. Ohitura horiek paganoen ezaugarriak dira. XX.mendearen bigarren erdiaz geroztik, opariak erosteko ideia  kontsumizioak asko bultzatu du, ohitura bilakatu arte. Askok El Corte Inglesek asmatutako ospakizuna dela diote. Apaingarriak tradizio luzea dute historian zehar, Gabonetako hiru kolore nagusiak berdea (zuhaitza), zuria (elurra) eta gorria (bihotzena). Gabonetako zuhaitza, izeia, Alemanian erabiltzen hasi ziren VIII.mendean. Ordutik, oso zabaldua dago mundu  osoan.
Kaleetako argiak, jaiotzaren irudiak, ezkilak, kandelak eta beste apaingarriak kristautasunarekin zerikusia dute.

Gabonak hitza (gau onak) terminoetatik dator. Eguberria, eguberriak, gabon edo gabonak esanahi bera duten hitzak dira.

Neguko Solstizioaren inguruan hainbat mito daude, Neguko Solstizioan egunak urteko laburrenak dira, baina hemendik aurrera luzatzen joango dira. Euskal Herrian eguberriaren eguna eguzkiaren jaiotzaren ideiarekin lotuta dago. Gabonetan, eguzkia bere punturik baxuenera heltzen da, eta une horretatik aurrera hasten dira egunak luzatzen.

Xabier Lete

Xabier Lete was a Basque poet, singer and songwriter who was born in Oyarzun, Gipuzkoa in the 5th of april 1944.
He started writing when it was young and the articles he wrote were publicated in Zeruko Argia newspaper. In 1965 took part along with other Basque singers in a music group called Ez Dok Amairu. The music group ended in 1972 and started singing with his wife.
In 1968 publicated his first poem book and in 2009 the last one called Egunsentiaren esku izoztuak. This poem book won the Literal award of Euskadi in 2005.
Xabier Lete had been a very important personage in the Basque literature. Died some years ago, exactly in December 4, 2010 by a deseas before he stay two days in the hospital.
